MIFF reviews: I need that record!; Van Diemens; Treeless Mountain

30 Jul

Van diemens: *** beautifully shot, well acted but too long, with no pathos, strange aesthetic choices which bled the brightness and colour from the Australian landscape
I need that record!: ***1/2 good amatuer doco made great by excellent interviews and reflective analysis of the small independent record stores decline
Treeless Mountain: **1\2 boring social realism from south Korea, but with fantastic performances from the children. So boring though.
